1 Peter 4: 8-19 // Grace and getting through tough times

Live with Urgency and Prayer

Since “the end of all things is at hand,” believers are called to be clear-minded, self-controlled, and devoted to prayer. The reality of Jesus’ return should deepen our prayer life, not just our curiosity about prophecy.

Love and Serve One Another Faithfully

Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins. Use your gifts—without grumbling—to serve the body of Christ, acting as faithful stewards of God’s grace.

Endure Suffering with Purpose

Trials are not strange but part of sharing in Christ’s sufferings, refining our faith and drawing us closer to Him. Suffering for Christ is honorable; avoid suffering for sinful actions, and commit yourself to God’s care in every hardship.

Because time is short, we must pray earnestly, love deeply, serve faithfully, and endure trials with a Christ-centered purpose, knowing our suffering is never wasted.
